Description

One night Maya wakes up to an unusual sound, and standing before her is a small robot. The robot has been sent to her to try and find out all he can about human emotions. This warming and heartfelt story portrays a girl going through many changes and challenges and how she develops an unlikely friendship with a robot. Her story will encourage readers to feel confident about situations in every day life which can sometimes feel overwhelming. In the second part of the book, solutions and techniques for dealing with emotions and stress are suggested by a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist.

Evelyne Stein-Fischer was born in Paris, and lives in Vienna. She studied journalism, worked as a journalist, graphic designer and a book illustrator. Today she is a prolific children and young adults’ book author. She is very enthusiastic about working with children and is convinced that every child has a special ability. So far she has published over twenty books, some of which have been translated into several languages.  Inge Bratusch-Marrain, was born and raised in Vienna, and she holds a doctorate in clinical psychology. After studying, Inge set up a psychological service for kindergartens. Additionally she has trained in several psychotherapeutic methods. She has worked as a psychological counsellor and consultant for youth departments for almost thirty years.
Birgitta Heiskel was born in Frankfurt, Germany. She studied at the University of Fine Arts in Braunschweig and has been working as a freelance illustrator mainly for book and magazine publishers in Vienna since 1990. She has already received several awards for her children’s book illustrations.
